EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES LIABILITY

A workplace deserves more than a policy.

EPLI can respond to covered allegations arising from the employment relationship. Governance and documented controls help an underwriter understand how your organization manages people.

The exposures to discuss

  • Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation allegations
  • Wrongful termination and employment-related defamation
  • Negligent hiring or supervision, where the policy provides cover
  • Third-party discrimination or harassment, where an extension is agreed

Defense costs, damages, definitions of insured persons, reporting obligations, retentions, and exclusions vary by policy. We review those details with you before placement.

THE INCLUSIONSCORE APPROACH

Make people management visible.

ISO 30415 provides inclusion guidance. InclusionScore maturity assessments organize evidence of accountability, training, complaint handling, and continual improvement.

That evidence can inform an underwriting submission. An assessment does not determine a premium, guarantee a credit, or establish coverage.

PROGRAM REFERENCE

The Beazley-related EPLI program.

The supplied InclusionScore brochures reference BeazleySure and describe an EPLI program combining insurance with risk management support. These are legacy program materials, not a current quotation or binder.

Features described in the materials

The consumer brochure describes claims-made coverage, consent to settle, prior-acts or retroactive-date provisions, reporting extensions, and optional defense outside limits. The agent brochure also describes entity and individual coverage, privacy law violations, and outside directorship.

Availability and wording must be confirmed against the specific insurer’s current program and proposed policy. Optional features, eligibility, limits, platform access, and fees require underwriting confirmation.

Keep different products distinct.

The addendum discusses Safeguard sexual abuse and molestation protection and crisis response services separately from EPLI and D&O. Those descriptions do not extend an EPLI policy or establish NCII coverage.

We do not represent that Beazley or any Lloyd’s syndicate has approved this website or a new product. The insurer and any participating underwriting entities must be identified in the actual placement documents.

DIRECTORS & OFFICERS

Leadership brings responsibility.

D&O insurance addresses covered claims alleging wrongful acts in the capacity of a director or officer. It is a separate coverage discussion from employment practices liability.

Start with the leadership exposure.

For example, a board may face allegations over its oversight of a major transaction or the management of a significant organizational risk. The facts, insured capacity, and policy wording determine the coverage question.

Build a submission with context.

Ownership, financial condition, board structure, transactions, claims history, and governance documentation help frame market discussions. D&O may be considered alongside EPLI, but one does not automatically include the other.

PREPARE FOR A QUOTE

Know the questions before you apply.

The 2023 EPLI application is a reference for the information a prospective insured may need to gather. A broker will confirm the current insurer application and secure submission process.

Organization

Business activities, jurisdictions, subsidiaries, financial information, and requested limits and retention.

People & practices

Employee and contractor counts, turnover, training, handbooks, grievance procedures, and ISO 30415 practices.

Coverage & history

Prior insurance, loss history, known circumstances, and organizational changes. Share sensitive details only through an agreed secure channel.

The application is a historical reference, not a current offer. Legacy marketing brochures are withheld from public download pending current insurer and compliance review. Do not send completed applications or detailed claims information through the public inquiry form.
